Analysis of water condition based on suspended sediment distribution and phytoplankton abundance in Lasolo Bay, Southeast Sulawesi Province

Abstract Lasolo Bay is a part of water in North Konawe Regency that connects the River and sea waters. Several activities from Nickel mining have been carried out around bay caused physical condition to change, namely an increase turbidity Total Suspended Solids (TSS) marine TSS phytoplankton are among indicators for determining level productivity water. The purpose this study was determine effect TSS, nitrate phosphate on abundance as indicator aquatic productivity. conducted August 2021. Determination sampling location based purposive method at 9 stations three layers light penetration depth 100%, 50% 25% surface intensity. analysis using gravimetric methods Sedgwick Rafter Counting Chamber tool Biological Laboratory FMIPA University Halu Oleo. results showed concentrations ranged 160–390 mg/l abundances each station 1208–3040 cells/l. Increased affect abundance. In general, high values were close mouth river central Bay. waters falls into moderate category.
